AMAZON CLIPPER PREMIUM (new boat) & AMAZON CLIPPER CRUISE

NEW BOATWe offer regular guaranteed departures (no minimum of pax required) with tours departing on Mondays (3 days/2 nights), Wednesdays (4 days/3 nights) and the full cruise from Mondays to Saturdays (6 days/5 nights). All tours depart and arrive at the Pier of the Hotel Tropical in Manaus.

We will explore the "igarapes" (river creeks) and "igapos" (flooded forests) by powered canoes, visit the natives and see their way of life, hike in the forest, as well as fishing, bird watching and swimming in the river. Lectures on the Amazon round up our program.

Meals

The meals are prepared on the boat from supplies taken aboard in Manaus and sometimes caught fresh on the way. Foodstuffs that need it are preserved in freezers or refrigerators. The water served on board is mineral water. The meals are generous and varied, basically consisting of local cuisine where fish plays a strong role and many times is caught on the way.

Cruise Accommodations

We have accommodations in double cabins with bunk berths, each cabin with private toilet and air conditioning for night use. If you do not have a travel companion, we will try to find a companionable roommate for you. For single occupancy reservation of a cabin there is a surcharge. The trips are always accompanied by an experienced local guide speaking English.

January Ecological Park

This ecological reserve is part of our itinerary and offers a unique opportunity for tourists to discover the diverse ecosystem of the Amazon.

Located on the Rio Negro, just forty-five minutes by boat from Manaus, the January Ecological Park unites several ecosystems of the region and has the advantage of being easily accessible by travelers. The nine thousand hectare area contains terra firme, varzea, and igapó forests, and is operated by a tour association composed of businesses from the sector with the permission of the Governor of the State. At the location, tourists can travel by canoe along the igapós, which are intersected by large and small trees with liana and vegetation typical of this ecosystem. At the Victoria Regia (Water-lily) lake, there is a rustic, yet secure, bridge that take the visitor to get to know this beautiful Amazonian flower.

Personal Gear Recommendations

Although the climate is considered hot and damp all year round (80-85 Fahrenheit, 30-34 Celsius) it can be surprisingly cool at night in the jungle or on the river. Most of the time passengers will find themselves wearing light clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, bathing suits and sandals, but for the hikes in the forest they should also have a long-sleeved shirt and trousers, light jacket, good footwear (tennis or hiking boots), small flashlight, binoculars, and personal effects.
