Juma Lodge was designed to be totally integrated to the jungle. The construction and operation of the lodge comply with and respect the limitations of the local environment, which is the very reason for the hotel to exist.

The lodge was built on solid ground and is supported on stilts. This type of construction is necessary due to the flood season, when the river water level rises up to 20m.

All materials used in the construction are plentiful in the region and were judiciously extracted from the forest.

Timber from trees such as angelim, itauba, aquariquara, tintarana and jacareuba were used on walls, passage ways and stilts, while the leaves of the babacu palm tree are used as roof covering, just like the native houses. This judicious extraction prevents the introduction of elements foreign to the jungle.

Despite this environmental concern Juma lodge offers excellent facilities for a lodge located in the jungle and has eight comfortable rooms with private bath and veranda with hummocks. The restaurant, serves both local and international dishes and has a dazzling view to the lake. The interaction of the lodge with nature is crowned by the constant presence of monkeys, maccaws and toucans.

Transfers:

Daily transfer from Manaus airport to hotel in Manaus
Daily departures at 7:30 a.m. from the hotels by van with air conditioning. Ceasa port to Careiro town by boat passing the "meeting of waters". Careiro town to Araca by van with air conditioning over road. Araca to Juma Lodge by boat. (Duration of the transfer about 4 hours total)
Daily return transfers to Manaus with arrival at 12:00 noon to the airport or arrival at 6:00 p.m. to the hotels.

Animals you may see around the lodge:

You can find birds like toucans, parrots, macaws. The best at Juma is trekking, piranha fishing, alligator tours, etc.
