The Pantanal region
is one of the world's richest natural reserve
and a migratory stopover for ibus, ducks,
storks, herons, egrets and many other species.
There over 300 species of birds scientifically
identified. The outings are accompanied
by bilingual guides and are determined according
to weather conditions. Situated on 131,000
acres of land, adjacent to a 17,300 acre
private ecological reserve, the Caiman Ecological
Refuge is an integral part of an expansive
cattle-breeding ranch, and offers the adventure
of face-to-face encounters with a magnificent
array of fauna, including: Caiman (native
alligator species), American Rhea (three-toed
American Ostriches), Hyacinth Macaw, Capivara
(Cabyvara - large river rodent), Deer, lbis,
Ducks, Storks, Spoonbills, Egrets, Cormorants,
Herons and many other species.
Bonito is
located south of the Pantanal region in
Mato Grosso do Sul state.
The word Bonito means beautiful in portuguese
and that could not be more appropriate to
describe this exotic area where you will
find: Hundreds of waterfalls, lakes and
rivers that offer great diving and snorkeling
to observe the wild life, over 80 caverns
(dry and flooded), hiking trails.
